Platform & developers

Built to extend,
not to lock you in.

Use your own domain, sell in several languages, add apps from the marketplace, and build custom websites or mobile apps on the same store through a headless commerce API.

Why it matters

The problems it takes off your plate

What merchants tell us goes wrong, and what the platform does about each one.

“Our developers wanted a custom site, not a second commerce backend.”

One commerce core, any front end

Build a website or app with the headless API and SDKs while the store keeps catalog, cart, pricing and checkout rules on the server.

“Moving to our own domain meant a weekend of certificate errors.”

Certificates handled for you

Connect a custom domain and follow the DNS steps shown. Once validation passes, the certificate is issued and renewed for you.

“Translating the store meant copying it for every country.”

Many languages from one store

Serve the storefront and catalog in several languages from one store, with AI translation you can review and override.

“Every integration was a fragile script polling our store.”

Signed webhooks

Apps subscribe to store events delivered as signed webhooks, with redelivery for attempts that failed.

How it works

What happens behind the screen

  1. Headless commerce API

Catalog, anonymous cart, checkout preparation and order placement through a documented API, with SDKs and starter projects.

  2. Apps and permissions

Apps request scoped permissions when installed and read or write store data only through those scopes.

  3. Events and webhooks

Subscribe to store events, send a test event, and redeliver deliveries that failed.

  4. Sign-in and security

    Passwordless email sign-in, app-based two-factor authentication and organisation-wide sign-in policy.

How to switch it on

The exact screens, in order. Nothing here needs a developer.

  1. Connect your domain

In Custom Domains, register or connect a domain, add the DNS records shown, and make the validated hostname primary.

  2. Add languages

Add the languages you sell in, then translate your content and catalog, reviewing any AI translation before you publish.

  3. Browse the app marketplace

Install an app and review the permissions it asks for before granting them.

  4. Build headless

Read the headless commerce guide to connect a starter project to your store with one store ID.

Straight answers

What it does not do yet

We would rather you know now than find out after you have planned around it.

  • App functions that run custom server code inside the platform are switched off.
  • Payment capture and refunds are server-controlled operations, not public browser APIs.
  • Custom domains match exact hostnames; wildcard domains are not supported.
  • Passwordless sign-in by text message is not generally available.
